Estimate your accounting fees

Getting Started

Get a Real Estimate in Two Minutes

This works best for U.S. small businesses doing $100K–$5M in revenue who want a fixed monthly fee. If that's you, keep going.

  • You operate a U.S.-based small business
  • You want a clear picture of how your business is running
  • You're looking to outsource bookkeeping, tax, or advisory work
  • Annual revenue between $100K and roughly $5M
  • You want a fixed-fee monthly relationship — not hourly billing

What is your annual revenue?

A rough range is fine.

Use your trailing 12 months of gross revenue (top line, before expenses). If you're newer or pre-revenue, use your projected next 12 months. Owner draws and personal income don't count.

How many transactions per month?

An average across a typical month is fine.

Every line on your bank or card statement counts — deposits, card swipes, checks, transfers, fees. Quick gut check: if your monthly bank statement is 4 pages long, you're probably around 150–200 transactions.

How many accounts need reconciling?

Bank accounts and credit cards combined.

Count every business checking account, savings account, and credit card the business uses. Example: one operating checking, one savings, one Amex, one Visa = 4 accounts. Personal accounts the business shares with shouldn't be on this list — but that's a separate conversation we'd have during a discovery call.

How many active loans does the business carry?

SBA loans, equipment financing, lines of credit, vehicle loans, etc.

Include any loan or line of credit where the business is making regular payments and where principal/interest needs to be tracked. Example: an SBA loan + a truck loan + an open line of credit = 3 loans. Vendor terms (Net 30) and credit cards don't count here.

How many employees do you have?

Including yourself if you're on payroll. 1099 contractors don't count here.

Count anyone who gets a paystub from the business — including yourself if you're paid that way. 1099 contractors don't count, even if they work full-time.

Do you collect and remit sales tax?

If you sell taxable products or services and have to send sales tax payments to one or more states, answer Yes. Most pure service businesses answer No. E-commerce sellers and retailers usually answer Yes — sometimes for multiple states.

What level of support are you looking for?

This is the biggest driver of which package fits.

This is the single biggest driver of price. The middle option is the most common for $500K–$3M businesses. The third option is closer to having an in-house controller — best for $1M+ businesses or owners who want tax planning, not just tax filing.

Frequently Asked Questions

It's a reasonable directional estimate based on the complexity factors that drive our pricing. It is not a binding quote. We confirm final pricing in writing after a discovery call where we look at your actual books, software, and what you need from us. Most clients land within the range shown, but unusual situations (multi-entity, inventory, heavy backwork) can push higher.
No. Nothing here creates an engagement, signs you up, or shares your information with anyone. The estimator runs locally in your browser. If you want a real proposal, you schedule a consultation — and even then, no money changes hands until we both agree on scope and you sign an engagement letter.
A typical bookkeeper reconciles accounts and hands you a P&L. We do that — but we also file your business tax return, meet with you to explain what the numbers mean, and (at the higher tiers) plan ahead to lower your tax bill. One firm, one team, one conversation. No handoffs between your bookkeeper, your tax preparer, and your advisor.
Onboarding and any backwork (catch-up bookkeeping for prior periods) are billed separately as one-time fees. Payroll processing runs through a partner (Gusto, ADP, etc.) and is billed by them. Personal 1040 tax returns are an add-on at any tier. Additional state sales tax or income tax filings beyond your primary state are add-ons. Bill pay (Bill.com) and fractional CFO work are also separate.
Yes — for Growth + Tax and Your Finance Team, the business entity return (1120-S, 1065, or 1120) is bundled into the monthly fee. There's no separate year-end invoice for the return. For Essentials, the entity return is an add-on (typically $1,500–$5,000+ depending on complexity).
If your situation involves multiple entities, multi-state operations needing separate P&Ls, inventory or job costing, real-time cash reporting, or anything outside a standard tier, we'll quote a Custom engagement after a discovery call. The estimator will flag you as Custom automatically based on your answers in certain combinations.
Most engagements start within 1–2 weeks. You'll get your first set of clean financials within 30 days of signing. We'll cover the timeline in detail on the discovery call.
